When did going to the gas station become a restaurant experience?
You pull in because the tank is empty. Then you see a fireplace. There are couches. A television. Fresh pizza. Sandwiches. Coffee.
And suddenly you're sitting inside a little New England roadside restaurant wondering why there happens to be a fuel pump outside.
That's basically what Common Man Roadside is building in New Hampshire.
Its eighth location is currently under construction in Concord, with an opening expected in October 2026.
The roughly 6,000-square-foot site will have gas pumps, a full kitchen, made-to-order pizzas, pastas, salads and sandwiches, grab-and-go food, coffee and a living-room-style seating area with couches, a fireplace and a television.
And yes.
The pumps stay open 24 hours.
The restaurant doesn't.
That's because Common Man has figured out something the old gas station model never really wanted to admit. The gasoline may get you there. The food is where the interesting business happens.
