Next time you are in a restaurant, look down.
See that rubber mat by the kitchen door? Somebody owns it. Not the restaurant.
A company you have never thought about owns that mat, and it comes and takes it away every week and brings a clean one.
Look at the server's shirt with the restaurant's logo on it. Rented. Washed somewhere else. Replaced when it wears out.
Look at the first aid cabinet on the wall in the back. Stocked by an outside company that checks it monthly.
Look at the fire extinguisher. Inspected by somebody with a clipboard on a schedule.
Every one of those could be the same company. And that company is one of the most quietly excellent businesses in America.
Nobody has ever gotten excited about a floor mat. Let us find out why it is such a good idea anyway.
