Here is a business that should not work.
Sell empty containers. Boxes, bins, baskets, shelving, hooks.
To people who already own more things than their houses can hold.
So the product is nothing, and the customer's actual problem is that they have too much, and you are selling them more.
And yet this store opened in Dallas in the 1970s, grew to locations across the country, and built a genuinely distinctive business.
It also ran into difficulty, which is the more interesting half of the story, and the difficulty had nothing to do with the boxes.
