What if the smartest thing a restaurant can do right now is stop trying to be everything?

That sounds almost too obvious. Yet look around the restaurant industry and you'll see chains adding menu items, chasing trends, extending hours and trying to become some giant Swiss Army knife of food.

Then there's Biscuitville.

It sells biscuits. Mostly breakfast. Mostly in the South. And somehow, that boring-sounding strategy looks pretty smart.

Biscuitville has grown to more than 85 restaurants across North Carolina, South Carolina and southern Virginia. It continues opening new locations while plenty of bigger restaurant chains are struggling to get customers through the door.

I think there is a reason for that. Biscuitville knows exactly what business it is in.
