Here is a sentence that should not be true.
One of the largest grocery chains in America is owned by its own employees. Not a token slice. Not a symbolic share. The people stocking shelves and running registers own the company.
There is no stock ticker. You cannot buy it. Wall Street cannot pressure it, raid it, or demand it cut staff to hit a quarterly number.
If you want a piece, you have to go work there.

And this is not a small experiment run by idealists. It is one of the biggest private employers in the country, in one of the thinnest margin industries that exists, in a state where the competition is brutal.
It should have been eaten years ago. It was not.
The reason is not generosity. It is one of the sharpest pieces of business strategy in American retail, and once you see the mechanism you will notice it everywhere.
